Zero tolerance

Tiers With Peers has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. A tier list you create is shared with everyone in the group chat you send it to, and anyone in that chat can add items to it. Content that breaks these guidelines is removed, and lists used to harass people are taken down.

What isn't allowed

Reporting content

Every piece of shared content in the app can be reported from inside the app, and no account is needed to do it:

Pick the reason that fits and send. We review every report and act on it promptly: content that breaks these guidelines is removed from the shared document and its photos are deleted, so it disappears for everyone in the chat. A report is anonymous to the other people in the chat — they are not told who filed it.

Hiding and blocking

Two separate things, in two separate places:

Filtering

Every name you type into a shared list is checked against a word filter before it is stored: the list title, the tier names, item names — both when you add an item and when you rename one — and your own display name. A name the filter refuses is not saved and the app tells you so.

The filter also runs on names the app saved earlier, when it reads them back — on an unsent draft you left on your device and on your display name. Those were stored before the filter existed, or before a term was added to it, so they are never told to you at the time. A refused display name is dropped; in a draft, the refused name is replaced with a plain placeholder and the rest of the draft is kept, so nothing is lost except the name itself. You can rename it before you share.

It is a good-faith filter over obvious slurs and sexual terms, not a moderation system, and it does not look at photos at all. Reporting is what covers the rest.
